DUSTWUN is an applied abbreviation ( du ty st atus - w hereabouts un known) used by the US Department of Defense . It describes the remaining status of a military member, similar to the disappearance law . The status DUSTWUN is equivalent to the military jargon MIA ( Missing in Action ), with the difference that a missing person remains in this constellation for a maximum of 10 days.
