Roof scooter is the name of a motor scooter that has a roof to protect against wind and rain. There is an open cabin mounted on the vehicle, which is provided with an integrated windshield and a windshield wiper.

The first series-covered model sold was the BMW C1 with a combustion engine.

Another roof scooter is the Benelli Adiva , which was offered from 2001 to 2006. The roof of the vehicle can be folded up when not in use and lowered into the rear storage space (80 liters).

Roof scooters with electric drives are also sold in small numbers.

In terms of approval, these vehicles are listed as moped, mopeds or motorcycles, depending on the strength of the engine.

Most of the models are two-wheelers, but tricycles can also be found.

The cabin scooter equipped with a closed cabin must be distinguished from the roof scooter .
