Daffodil 'Bridal Crown' - a double variety of daffodil
The Daffodil Society is the oldest institution worldwide that is committed to the breeding of daffodils . Its aim is to promote the cultivation of daffodils. It was founded in Birmingham in 1898 . New cultivars are not registered with this institution, but with the Royal Horticultural Society , which is based in London. Today more than 100 societies in Great Britain belong to this institution.
The Daffodil Society organizes an annual show in Warwick , where particularly attractive daffodils are awarded prizes. Its US counterpart is the American Daffodil Society . There is no comparable German equivalent.
