The American Daffodil Society , also known as ADS for short , is an institution that has set itself the goal of promoting interest in the culture and breeding of daffodils . This also includes promoting scientific research into the various types and varieties of daffodils.

The Columbus (Ohio) company was founded in 1954. It is the US counterpart to the British Daffodil Society , which has existed since 1898 and is therefore the oldest institution in the world that has set itself the goal of promoting narcissus culture and breeding. The American Daffodil Society works closely with the Royal Horticultural Society , which is the international registry for new varieties of daffodils.

The activities of the American Daffodil Society include the publication of a quarterly journal devoted exclusively to narcissus culture.
