Lady Grand Cross

The term Dame Grand Cross denotes, in analogy to the male Knight Grand Cross , in English usage the highest class of a three- or five-level state order of merit , provided a woman is awarded it.

For British citizens, the top two levels are linked to the personal nobility status and entitle the bearer to use the nobility predicate “ lady ” as a prefix in front of the first name. The Order of Merit exists z. B. with the following orders of knights in the United Kingdom :
