The Damu Ridas were an Afro-American group of members of the Blood Gang from Inglewood , California who, among other things, released studio albums. They consisted only of members of the Crenshaw Mafia Gang Bloods and the Denver Lanes Bloods . Before the Damu Ridas were formed, some members of this group worked on the Bangin 'on Wax Project , which aimed to reduce gang violence across California. The goal was to "battle" yourself in the studio and not shoot yourself in the streets, which is why her lyrics are all about life as a Blood Gang member in Los Angeles. All members except Lil Hawk were shot, which is why the group no longer exists.
