Daniel Christian Glöckner

Daniel Christian Glöckner (born August 9, 1977 in Gelnhausen ) is a German politician ( FDP ). He has been the mayor of Gelnhausen since November 2017 .

After graduating from high school in 1997, Glöckner completed a course of study at the State University of Cooperative Education in Mosbach (Baden) with a focus on international business and marketing. In 2001, he received a BA in business administration. Glöckner worked for the automotive supplier Veritas AG in sales and export until 2008 before he became head of corporate communications.

Between 2011 and 2014 he did his master’s degree in communication science at the University of Economics and Marketing in Frankfurt am Main. The topic of his work was "The Credibility of the Churches in Germany". After Thorsten Stolz was elected district administrator of the Main-Kinzig district, Glöckner applied for the office of mayor in 2017. In the runoff election on October 15, 2017, he prevailed with 63.5 percent against Kerstin Schüler from the SPD. His inauguration took place on November 15, 2017.
