Thorsten Stolz (born September 1, 1979 in Gelnhausen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and since June 2017 District Administrator of the Main-Kinzig district .

Life

After finishing school, Stolz completed a course of studies at the Frankfurt University of Administration with a focus on administrative law, local law and public finances, and in 2003 was awarded a degree in administrative management (FH) . He then worked in the financial administration of the city of Frankfurt am Main .

After Jürgen Michaelis no longer ran for the office of mayor in Gelnhausen after 30 years , Stolz applied in 2006. He prevailed against the CDU applicant in the runoff election with 62.3 percent . On April 12, 2007 he was inaugurated in the district town of the Main-Kinzig district . In 2012, Stolz was re-elected with 77 percent.

On March 5, 2017, Stolz ran for the election of the district administrator of the Main-Kinzig district and was able to prevail against five competitors with 57.9 percent of the votes in the first ballot. On June 18, 2017 he took over the office of District Administrator of the Main-Kinzig-Kreis.

Stolz has been married since 2010. He became a father in September 2015.
