Reinhard Kubat

Reinhard Kubat (* 26. May 1958 in Korbach ) is a German politician ( SPD ) since 2010 and district administrator of the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .

Life

Kubat grew up with two siblings in Marienhagen on a farm. He attended the old state school in Korbach and graduated from high school there . He studied biology at the Philipps University of Marburg , where he worked as a research assistant from 1983 to 1990 and received his doctorate in 1989. He then worked for the Behring works in the Hanover region ( Burgwedel ). In addition, from 1985 to 2000 he was a partner at Bioplan Marburg in landscape planning. In 1992 Kubat returned to Hesse and moved to his parents' farm in Marienhagen. There he ran landscape planning together with his wife. After founding the Kellerwaldverein in 1992, he became managing director of the regional development group Kellerwald-Edersee and held this post from 1993 to 2001.

From 1993 to 2001 he was a member of the local advisory board in Marienhagen and during this time he held the office of mayor for one year. On September 2, 2001, Kubat was elected mayor of Frankenau with 62.6% of the votes cast and took office on January 1, 2002. On September 16, 2007 he was confirmed in office with 92.6%. In 2009, Kubat ran for the office of District Administrator of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. After no candidate was able to achieve a majority in the elections on July 5th, Kubat was able to prevail on July 19th in a runoff election with 54.3%. He took up his new office on January 1, 2010. On March 7, 2010, Kubat's party colleague Björn Brede was elected as the new mayor of Frankenau.

Kubat has been married since 1988 and has four children, two sons and two daughters. Since 2003 he has been federal chairman of the competition Our village has a future .
