Horst Bökemeier

Horst Bökemeier (born May 6, 1935 in Schwelentrup ; † June 24, 2015 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Bökemeier completed a university degree, which he completed in 1962 with a doctorate in Dr. rer. pole. and in 1964 with the doctorate to Dr. jur. completed. He worked from 1964 to 1967 as a district lawyer in Lemgo and later became a lawyer and notary in Korbach. In addition to his professional activity, he occupied himself with drawing caricatures.

Political activity

Bökemeier was a member of the SPD. On October 6, 1976, he replaced the deceased member of Parliament Horst Schmidt in the Hessian state parliament . From 1987 to 1989 he was Chairman of the Committee on Public Service Issues. On July 15, 1989, he resigned his state parliament mandate after he had previously been elected district administrator of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district.

Bökemeier was mayor of the city ​​of Korbach from 1967 to 1976 . From 1989 to 1997 he was district administrator for the Waldeck-Frankenberg district .

Awards

In May 2007 Bökemeier received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .
