Helmut Eichenlaub

Helmut Eichenlaub (* 1955 in Landau in the Palatinate ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1997 to 2010 he was District Administrator of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district .

Life

Eichenlaub completed a degree in administrative management (FH) at the Landau-Bad Bergzabern district administration (since 1978 Südliche Weinstrasse) and as a building authority manager at the Bad Bergzabern community . In 1981, Helmut Eichenlaub moved to Wiesbaden as a personal advisor to the managing director of the Hessian district council. In 1984, at the age of 29, he was elected mayor of the city of Frankenberg . From 1997 to 2010 he was District Administrator of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district.

In 2016, the Kassel Regional Court sentenced Eichenlaub to two years suspended prison sentence and a fine of EUR 18,000 for embezzlement, taking advantage of benefits, insurance fraud and tax evasion. He is said to have received 106,000 euros in "retrocession payments" from the private bank "LB Swiss" for public investments at the expense of the district, Energie Waldeck-Frankenberg and the Sparkasse Waldeck-Frankenberg. He was also accused of tax evasion and insurance fraud because he allegedly declared a private accident with his son's car as damage during a business trip. A revision procedure before the Federal Court of Justice is pending.

Private

Eichenlaub is married and has two children.
