Michael Köberle

Michael Georg Köberle (* 23. December 1965 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and since 2019 District Administrator of the district Limburg because castle .

Life

After attending school, Köberle completed his professional training as a power system electronics technician in 1985 and then attended the technical college specializing in electrical engineering before completing his 15-month basic military service in Frankenberg (Eder) and in Wetzlar . He completed his three-year degree in electrical engineering at the Giessen University of Applied Sciences as a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in 1992.

After completing his studies, Köberle worked nationally and internationally in plant engineering for the Mannesmann and Siemens groups from 1992 to 2001 . At Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main , he was head of energy technology from 2002 to 2008 and head of industrial engineering from 2008 to 2016. From 2016 he was head of operations management at this state broadcaster until he left on December 31, 2018.

Köberle has been married to his wife Petra Köberle since 1992 and has three sons and a daughter. He lives in the Limburg district of Eschhofen .

In the course of German reunification , Köberle joined the CDU. From 2001 to 2008 he was a member of the local advisory council of the CDU parliamentary group in Eschhofen. From 2007 he became city ​​councilor and from 2010 to 2013 parliamentary group chairman of the CDU in the city ​​council assembly in Limburg. In 2015 he was elected mayor of the city council and in 2016 he was elected district council member and deputy district council chairman. As part of his voluntary local political activities, Köberle works in various commissions and committees.

On November 11, 2018, he was elected as the successor of Manfred Michel to the district administrator of the Limburg-Weilburg district in a runoff election with 57.9 percent of the votes cast . His opponent was Jörg Sauer ( SPD ). He took office on January 1, 2019.

District administrator Michael Köberle will be chairman of the supervisory board of the two district savings banks Limburg and Weilburg from 2019 . He also heads the Limburg-Weilburg Sparkasse Foundation as Chairman of the Foundation Board.
