Manfred Michel (* 23. February 1953 in Elz ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was from January 2007 to 31 December 2018 District Administrator of the district Limburg because castle .

Life

Michel studied architecture at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences and graduated in 1978 with a degree in engineering. He then worked from 1978 to March 2000 at the Wiesbaden State Building Authority and from 1988 worked as a project manager in the project management department.

Michel became a member of the Junge Union Elz in 1970 . He has been a member of the CDU since 1981. As such, he was a member of the local council of Elz from 1981 to 1989, and from 1985 to 1989 he was the deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there. From 1989 to February 2000 he was a member of the Elzer community board. During this time he was first alderman from 1997 . From 1996 to February 2000 Michel was a member of the CDU district parliamentary group in the Limburg-Weilburg district.

Michel now switched completely to politics and from March 2000 to December 2006 was the first district member of the Limburg-Weilburg district. In 2006 he was elected to the district administrator and took office in January 2007. He was re-elected in 2012. His term of office ended on December 31, 2018. He did not stand for further re-election for reasons of age. Michael Köberle (CDU) was elected as his successor .

District administrator Manfred Michel was chairman of the supervisory board of the two district savings banks Limburg and Weilburg . In addition, he headed the Sparkassen- Stiftung Limburg-Weilburg from its establishment on November 6, 2007 until December 31, 2018 as Chairman of the Foundation Board.

Manfred Michel has been married since 1975 and has two sons.
