The Florian Medal of the Hessian Youth Fire Brigade is awarded by the Hessian Youth Fire Brigade in the State Fire Brigade Association of Hesse in recognition of the services in and around youth work in the fire brigades of the State of Hesse .

The Florian Medal of the Hessian Youth Fire Brigade shows on the front a portrait of the patron saint of the St. Florian fire brigade with the words “Fire! Help! ”On the back there is the embossing of the coat of arms of Hesse , which is framed by the inscription“ THANKS AND RECOGNITION - HESSIAN YOUTH FIRE BRIGADE ”. The medal has a diameter of 5 cm.

Award
The Florian Medal of the Hessian Youth Fire Brigade is awarded by the State Youth Fire Brigade Warden of the State of Hesse . A certificate of honor is issued for the award . A corresponding strap buckle will also be handed out with the award .

In principle, the person to be honored must have already been awarded the Florian Medal of the previous level.
Florian Medal Bronze
One of the following minimum requirements applies to the award of the Florian Medal Bronze:
- Fire service members or helpers who have distinguished themselves through their work in youth work over a period of more than three years.
- Private individuals who have made a special contribution through their work in the youth fire brigade .
- Fire brigade members who retire from active youth work in the fire brigade and have held the position of department head, supervisor, youth group leader or youth group spokesman for a period of at least three years.
- Senior functionaries in the youth work of the fire brigade who have held office for at least three years.
Florian Medal Silver
For the award of the Florian Medal Silver, one of the following minimum requirements applies:
- Fire service members or helpers who have distinguished themselves through their work in youth work over a period of more than ten years and who already have the Florian bronze medal.
- Private individuals who have distinguished themselves through their work in the youth fire brigade over a period of more than ten years.
- Fire brigade members who retire from active youth work in the fire brigade and have held the position of department head, supervisor, youth group leader or youth group spokesman for a period of at least six years.
- Senior functionaries in the youth work of the fire brigade who have held office for at least five years.
Florian Gold Medal
One of the following minimum requirements applies to the award of the Florian Gold Medal:
- Fire service members or helpers who have distinguished themselves through their work in youth work over a period of more than 15 years and who already have the Florian Medal in silver.
- Private individuals who have distinguished themselves through their work in the youth fire brigade over a period of more than 15 years.
- Fire service members who have held the position of department head, supervisor, youth group leader or youth group spokesman for a period of at least nine years.
- Senior functionaries in the youth work of the fire brigade who have held office for at least eight years.
Benefactor
The State Fire Brigade Association of Hesse is one of 16 state fire brigade associations in the German Fire Brigade Association . It was founded on April 21, 1954 in Frankfurt am Main . The association is the amalgamation of 32 city and district fire brigade associations , which are divided into three district fire brigade associations . Almost 500,000 members are united in the Hessian fire brigades. The largest aid organization in Hesse has around 75,000 active firefighters and around 27,600 youth firefighters in more than 2,600 volunteer fire brigades , six professional fire brigades and 57 works and company fire brigades .
