Frank Matiaske

Frank Matiaske (born September 14, 1966 ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been the district administrator of the Odenwaldkreis since 2015 .

Life

Matiaske is a trained administrative clerk. After this training, he studied at the administration Fachhochschule Darmstadt to graduate in business administration and worked for many years in local government. In addition to his work in local government, he completed the master's degree in public management (MPA) at the University of Kassel . He is also a certified corporate coach (Steinbeis University, Berlin), trained mediator and coach for design thinking .

From 2001 to 2008 he was an honorary district member of the Odenwaldkreis. In the local elections in September 2007, Matiaske was elected mayor of the city of Breuberg as a candidate of the SPD and in February 2008 he succeeded his party colleague Günter Verst . Matiaske resigned from the mayor's office on August 31, 2015. The reason for this was the direct election of the district administrator of the Odenwaldkreis on March 15, 2015. He stood against the incumbent Dietrich Kübler (ÜWG) and received 58.9% of the votes. On September 1, 2015, he began working as a district administrator in the district administration in Erbach.

Matiaske deals with questions about the future of rural areas.
