Hermann von Bechtold

Hermann von Bechtold (born March 6, 1836 in Darmstadt , † July 6, 1902 in Gießen ) was a German administrative lawyer, most recently provincial director and district councilor in Gießen.

Von Bechtold was the son of the Grand Ducal Hessian Interior Minister Friedrich von Bechtold (1800–1872) and his wife Charlotte Harriet née Engelbach (1799–1865). Von Bechtold, who was a Protestant denomination, married Christiane Wilhelmine, née Emmerling , on May 2, 1865 in Darmstadt (born November 15, 1839 in Darmstadt, † February 15, 1898 in Auerbach), the daughter of the court attorney and MP Martin Emmerling and his wife Sophie born Schleiermacher. Life

Bechtold studied law in Gießen and Heidelberg from the winter semester 1854/55 . In Giessen he was a member of the Corps Teutonia , in Heidelberg of the local Rhenania . After completing his studies, he was an accessist from 1863 and became Ministerial Secretary III on July 23, 1866. Class in the Ministry of the Interior and Justice of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . In 1870 he became Secretary of the Second Class and in 1875 Secretary of the First Class.

In 1882 Bechtold became a member of the government in Darmstadt, and in 1884 he was a member of the government of the Upper Hesse province in Gießen. In 1886 he was appointed to the district council of the Erbach district, and in 1888 to the district council in Bensheim . In 1894 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior in Darmstadt as Ministerialrat. In 1898 he became provincial director of the province of Upper Hesse and district councilor of the Gießen district .
