Dietrich Kübler (born July 10, 1950 in Mossautal , Odenwald ) is a German farmer and former district administrator of the Odenwald district .

Life

Kübler is a state-certified master of agriculture and forestry and has been running his parents' farm since 1984. Kübler has been active in the non-partisan voter community (ÜWG) Odenwald since 1980. He has been a member of the district committee of the Odenwaldkreis since 1994. In 2005 he took over the office of first district councilor and became deputy to District Administrator Horst Schnur .

In the 2009 district election, Kübler missed the absolute majority in the first ballot with 47.9% against his two competitors, SPD candidate Erika Ober (28.1%) and CDU candidate Arno Zips (24%). For the runoff election on March 29, he ran alone, as Ober resigned from her candidacy. Kübler received 86.6% of the votes.

He took up his post as District Administrator in the Odenwaldkreis on September 1, 2009 and since 1945 was the first District Administrator in the Odenwaldkreis who was not provided by the SPD.

In June 2013 rumors arose about the acceptance of an advantage as part of the new location marketing of the Odenwaldkreis against Kübler. However, he himself assumes that the prosecution's investigations do not reveal any wrongdoing on his part.

On March 15, 2015 Kübler ran again as a candidate of the ÜWG for the office of district administrator, but was defeated by his SPD challenger Frank Matiaske with 41.1% to 58.9% of the votes. According to his own statements, the media attention around the assumed benefit assumption played a decisive role, although the public prosecutor's office had closed the proceedings against him. At the end of August 31, 2015, he resigned from the office of district administrator.

After the Hessian Economic and Infrastructure Bank (WI-Bank) had announced the provisional revocation of the funding for the location marketing project amounting to almost 70,000 euros in a letter dated June 9, 2015, the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office opened its investigation against the former District Administrator Dietrich Kübler Infidelity at the expense of the Odenwaldkreis again.

In July 2017 there was a trial before the lay judge at the Michelstadt District Court in Odenwald. This dragged on for twelve days and ended on December 20, 2017 with a conviction of the defendant. District judge Helmut Schmied imposed a prison sentence of seven months and a fine of 25,000 euros to charitable institutions. The sentence was suspended for three years. The defense of the former district administrator had demanded acquittal. On December 29, 2017, the Darmstadt public prosecutor announced that they had appealed. At the beginning of January 2018, the defense of the former district administrator also announced that they wanted to appeal. The Michelstadt District Court now has until the end of February 2018 to provide a written justification for the judgment, after which the trial files are sent to the Darmstadt Regional Court.

On February 20, 2018, the 82-page written reasoning for the judgment was published. It was served on the Darmstadt public prosecutor in April 2018. It became known from the public prosecutor's office and the Darmstadt Regional Court that, due to the overload, the appeal proceedings are no longer expected to begin in 2018.
