Coat of arms Mossautal.svg

Blazon : "In a diagonally square shield on the right and left a red star on silver, above a silver Iroschotten cross on red, below a silver Johanniterkreuz on red."

The coat of arms of the municipality of Mossautal was approved on February 13, 1979 by the Hessian Minister of the Interior . It was designed by the Bad Nauheim heraldist Heinz Ritt .

The stars refer to the earlier affiliation of the districts to the Erbach rulership . The mohawk cross comes from a stone found at Unter-Hiltersklingen, on which this is engraved. The Johanniterkreuz indicates the former Johanniterkommende, who had their seat in Ober-Mossau until the Reformation.

The municipality of Mossautal does not fly an officially approved flag, but a red-white-red flag is used locally, with the municipal coat of arms.
