history

The history of the development of the municipality of Lützelbach shows how the regional reform in Hesse sometimes only led to a lasting result after several intermediate steps:

On February 1, 1971, the communities Haingrund and Seckmauern merged to form the Steinbachtal community, and the Breitenbrunn community was incorporated into the neighboring community of Lützel-Wiebelsbach. On December 31, 1971, the Rimhorn community was incorporated into the Lützel-Wiebelsbach community by mutual agreement. Then the municipalities Steinbachtal and Lützel-Wiebelsbach were merged with effect from August 1, 1972 to the municipality Lützelwiebelsbach by the law for the reorganization of the district Erbach . One year later, on July 1, 1973, the community was renamed Lützelbach .

Blazon : "In geschachtet split plate right in red a golden blaubekrönter and -bezungter lion left in silver and blue."

The coat of arms of the municipality of Lützelbach was approved on July 5, 1973 by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior . It was designed by the Bad Nauheim heraldist Heinz Ritt .

The coat of arms, like the flag, was taken over from today's district of Lützel-Wiebelsbach. It was introduced in 1962 based on a drawing by Heinz Ritt . It is based on the original coat of arms of the noble family (Reiz von) Breuberg , whose ancestral castle was in Lützelbach.

flag

The flag was approved for the municipality together with the coat of arms by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior and is described as follows:

"The municipal coat of arms is placed on the gold and blue flag cloth in the intersection."

Culture and sights

The course of the Odenwald Limes with watchtower foundations and traces of the Roman forts Lützelbach and Seck walls is well worth seeing . The Pretlack'sche Palais in Rimhorn, built in 1733 in a prominent location above the village by Johann Rudolf Victor von Pretlack, is also of importance as a cultural monument .
