Steinbachtal (Odenwald)

Steinbachtal was a short-lived former municipality in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse , which included the two neighboring towns of Haingrund and Seckmauern and which became part of the municipality of Lützelwiebelsbach (today Lützelbach ).

Geographical location

The municipality of Steinbachtal lay between the wooded ridge in the west, on which the Neckar-Odenwald-Limes ran, and the Hessian-Bavarian border in the east. Both districts of the community are located on the eponymous Steinbach . This body of water flows into the Main as the Mutterbach near the neighboring town of Wörth to the east .

The municipality of Steinbachtal was created on February 1, 1971 in the course of the regional reform in Hesse through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Haingrund and Seckmauern . In the further course of the territorial reform, this new formation was merged one and a half years later on August 1, 1972 with the municipality of Lützel-Wiebelsbach to form the municipality of Lützelwiebelsbach , which was renamed Lützelbach on July 1, 1973 .
