Brombachtal is a municipality in the Odenwaldkreis in Hesse ( Germany ).
geography
Geographical location
Brombachtal is located in the center of the Odenwald near Bad König . Three of the five districts of the municipality are in the catchment area of the Brombach , which gave the Brombachtal its name. The highest point in the municipality is the 443 meter high Heidelberg in the Böllsteiner Odenwald in the west . The lowest point at around 185 meters is in the east in the Mümling lowlands on the roadside of Bundesstraße 45 , which forms the municipal boundary here.
Neighboring communities
Brombachtal borders the city of Bad König to the north and east , the city of Michelstadt to the south and the communities of Reichelsheim and Brensbach to the west .

The community consists of the five districts of Birkert , Böllstein , Hembach , Kirchbrombach (seat of the municipal administration) and Langenbrombach .
history
The municipality was created on October 1, 1971 on the occasion of the regional reform in Hesse through the voluntary amalgamation of the municipalities of Birkert, Böllstein, Hembach, Kirch-Brombach (now Kirchbrombach) and Langen-Brombach (now Langenbrombach). A new town hall was built on the outskirts of Kirchbrombach in the direction of Langenbrombach.

After the Hessian municipal constitution is Mayor Chairman of the Municipal Board , the volunteer next to the mayor five in the municipality Brombachtal Associate members. Willi Kredel (SPD) has been mayor since July 31, 2004. He prevailed in a runoff election on July 11, 2004 with 66.9% of the votes against Sonja Kredel (CDU). In 2010 he was confirmed (as the only nominated candidate) with 93.2% of the votes in office. On March 6, 2016, Willi Kredel was re-elected for a third term with 73.1% of the votes against his competitor Andreas Funken (CDU). His directly elected predecessors were

The coat of arms of the municipality of Brombachtal was approved on March 19, 1980 by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior . It was designed by the Bad Nauheim heraldist Heinz Ritt . The black cross that splits the coat of arms comes from the coat of arms of the Fulda monastery . The upper right field shows the coat of arms of the Lords of Rodenstein , the star is a reference to the Counts of Erbach , the rose a reference to the Counts of Wertheim and the two bars the coat of arms of the Lords of Breuberg . All these families and Fulda owned what is now the districts of Brombachtal. |

Community partnerships
Since May 30, 1987, there has been a partnership between Brombachtal and the French community of La Rivière-de-Corps ( Champagne ).
Buildings
In the district of Kirchbrombach is the Protestant church built in the middle of the 15th century with the St. Alban's winged altar built around 1518 . Until the Reformation, the church belonged to St. Alban's Abbey in Mainz . The official list of cultural monuments in Brombachtal comprises 29 items.

There are no large companies in Brombachtal. Smaller companies are TKS Sicherheitsdienste GmbH and Knusperhahn GmbH, which is known for grilled chickens .

There is a public primary school in the Kirchbrombach district .
traffic
The community is connected to the transport network through the federal highways B45 ( Hanau - Eberbach ) and the B47 ( Walldürn - Worms ).
In terms of rail transport, the community is connected to the Bad König-Zell stop , which was formerly called Zell-Kirchbrombach according to the name of a district , and the Bad König train station on the Odenwaldbahn .
