List of cultural monuments in Mossautal
The following list contains the cultural monuments identified in the monument topography in the area of the municipality of Mossautal , Odenwaldkreis , Hesse .
- Note: The order of the monuments in this list is based first on the districts and then on the address; alternatively, it can also be sorted according to the name, the number assigned by the State Office for Monument Preservation or the construction time.
The basis is the publication of the Hessian list of monuments, which was created for the first time on the basis of the Monument Protection Act of September 5, 1986 and has been continuously updated since then.

According to tradition, supposedly the place of execution of a Fehmgericht , more likely the Hainger judicial place of the village, which until 1511 belonged to the Freienstein office, then to the Michelstadt office. |

The Kindlesbrunnen, also known as the Church or Kiliansbrunnen, is located in the center of the village between the stairway to the church and the Helm inn . The walled basin, into which water pours from a large outlet and three pipes, was renewed in its current form in 1910. |

Single-storey half-timbered house on a high, solid base with cellar and stable. The building, which is covered by a gable roof with a modern, wide dormer window , has shingles on the street side and a single flight of stairs to the front door. At the basement entrance under the outside staircase, the house is dated 1707 (?). In the stable window, a workpiece dated 1608 has been reused. |

Two-storey stone building on a high basement plinth, with a two-flight flight of stairs to the front door on the first floor and covered by a gable roof. The representative building was erected in the late Gothic period. The building on the portal and the cellar portal is dated 1594 or 1596. The cellar portal on the side is dated 1777. In the vaulted cellar there is a spring that is said to have its origin under the church. A stone found at Hiltersklingen is kept in the rectory, in which a cross and a human figure are carved. The exact age of the incisions is unknown, they certainly date from the time before the Thirty Years' War and could even go back to the earliest time of Christianization in the 7th century. | 1594/96 |

Evangelical parish church | Hüttenthaler Straße 43 Location hallway: 9, parcel: 24 |
The parish church is the oldest church in the southern Odenwald district and was mentioned as the parish church of the surrounding villages as early as 1290. The tower in the west is the oldest part of the church, its base dates back to Roman times. The core of the nave dates from the early Gothic period and underwent late Gothic changes. The retracted rectangular choir and sacristy , dated 1480, have a star vault . The church has a pulpit from the early 18th century, an organ from 1740 and a stained glass window in the sacristy, which was assembled from parts of much older stained glass windows in the 19th century. In the former churchyard there is a late Gothic crucifix from 1503 and two old tombs from the 18th century. The quarry stone wall around the churchyard is still original in the north and west and covered with "bishop's hats". |

Shingled one-story half-timbered house in a three-sided courtyard with a gable roof, on a steep slope, built around 1775. The southern half of the house facing the slope has a massive basement, the west side of the building has been massively renovated. The roof has recently wide dormers on both sides. The originally preserved open staircase, which leads to a podium in the paved courtyard, is a rarity. The courtyard also includes a fountain with two tubs from 1857 and farm buildings that were built in the 19th century. | around 1775 |

Tomb of the Countess Erbachischen game master Georg Nees († 1828) and his daughter Karoline († 1859). The tomb is said to have been placed in Reichenberg Castle in 1865 and is now set up in the middle of the forest. The tomb has the shape of a entwined broken column on a rectangular plinth. |

Long, massive sandstone building with stables, barn, cellar and dance hall. The building was constructed in several stages between 1824 and 1897. The Hofreite, of which it is part, was probably once a mill of the Counts of Erbach-Fürstenau, later the Hofgut was owned by the Count of Bergheim. In the Hofgut there are also some smaller objects that are part of the cultural monument, namely an inscription plate from 1608 with the pick as a miller's mark and another relief stone, both of which are laid as floor slabs near the house, as well as a fountain with a round well. |

A row of old boundary stones northwest of Hiltersklingen on the border to Weschnitz, with the coat of arms of the Electoral Palatinate. After Hiltersklingen fell to Kurmainz in 1623 and 1650 , the year 1650, a Mainz wheel and the word "Abgelöst" were carved into the stones . |

The Lindelbrunnen, north of Hüttenthal, was first mentioned in 795 and, like a fountain in Gras-Ellenbach, is a possible setting for the Siegfried saga. The spring version was renewed in 1883 and 1974, as indicated by a bronze plate. |

Stilted one-story half-timbered house on a high quarry stone base with a vaulted cellar. The building is located on a hillside, an external staircase leads to the side to the entrance on the gable side. The building belongs to the neighboring Hofgut Molkereiweg 9 and is dated 1808 on the corner stand. A sauerkraut stand next to the house bears a house sign and the year 1759. | 1808 |

The property at Molkereiweg 9 is an important Hubenhof, the buildings of which were renovated in the 19th and 20th centuries. Some fragments are from earlier buildings. A keystone from a cellar portal with the date 1658 and a cuboid with the date 1760 (?) Are walled up on the east side of the house. The fountain in the courtyard is dated 1841 and has a sun wheel as decoration, the fountain stick is part of the post enclosure of the courtyard. |

Extended four-sided courtyard, which was built according to templates of the Agricultural Association in Hesse. The buildings are made of solid sandstone and grouped around a rectangular courtyard. The two-storey residential building on a high basement plinth, dated 1870, has a flight of stairs to the portal with profiled stone walls on the eaves side and is covered by a gable roof. The house is a two-story, shingled half-timbered building on a high ashlar base, with a two-flight flight of stairs, covered by a half-hipped roof. The cellar portal of the building is dated 1817. Gothic wayside shrine on a shaft with bevelled edges, the empty case has tracery-adorned blind arches on the sides. At the upper end of the shaft there is an alleged donor coat of arms with hammer and pliers. The donor was probably a hammer smith, so that the wayside shrine not only announces popular piety but also the ore mining that was once operated in the area. |

Evangelical parish church | Kirchstraße 10, in the village of Lage Floor: 9, Parcel: 83/4, 86/6, 87/1 |
The church was first mentioned in 1253 and was once the seat of a Johanniterkommende who owned large estates in the surrounding towns. The Order of St. John withdrew at the time of the Reformation and the church became Protestant. The parish was dissolved in 1557 and only re-established in 1849. The core of the church dates from the early Gothic period , the nave was widened in 1501 and received its current portals, the spire was raised in the 19th century. In the ribbed vaults of the choir tower itself paintings have received from the 15th century. Other historical features include an early Gothic grave slab found in 1981, the organ from 1866 and the fragment of a stone cross ("Spinnmaid Cross") that once stood on the road to Spreng. Two plaited tombstones from 1778/79 have been preserved on the historic churchyard wall. |

Gable-independent two-storey building, the base and ground floor of which are made of solid sandstone blocks, while the upper storey was built in clapboard half-timbering. The house is covered by a hipped roof. On the right side of the eaves there is a protruding risalit for the staircase, at the corner of which a massive closed loggia is drawn in towards the street. The building, which was probably built shortly after 1900, is based on rural building habits and is similar to the school buildings in Birkert, Wallbach and Ober-Ostern. | around 1900 |

Parts of the mill equipment have been preserved in working order, as well as some original leaded glass windows. The building, dated 1757, has stables in the massive basement on the slope side. Behind the building is a separate laundry room, dated 1851, with a door from the Biedermeier period. To the east of the mill there is a row of positioning stones. | 1757 |

Single-storey clapboard half-timbered house in a large four-sided courtyard over a massive basement-stable base converted into garages. The house is covered by a gable roof. The two groups of three windows each suggest an undisturbed framework that has been preserved under the shingling. The building, dated in 1746 when the cellar fell, is the oldest house in the valley. A massive two-flight flight of stairs leads on the eaves side to the 19th century front door in the living area. The south and north sides of the building are clad, while the west side is solidly bricked up in sandstone. The exposed half-timbering on the portal side to the east shows only a single strut and with this ancient construction marks the building as dating from the 18th century.
