Wilhelm Georg Rudolf Freiherr von Wedekind (born September 30, 1830 in Darmstadt ; † April 23, 1914 there ) was a Hessian politician ( NLP ) and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

family

Wilhelm von Wedekind was the son of the forester Georg Wilhelm Freiherr von Wedekind and his wife Wilhelmina Margarethe, née (von) Schubert. His grandfather was the doctor and revolutionary Georg Christian Gottlieb Freiherr von Wedekind , his brother the state parliament member Georg Freiherr von Wedekind . On October 12, 1857 in Darmstadt, he married the daughter of the Hessian scholar and politician Johann Friedrich Knapp , Emma (Gertrude Christiane) (1830–1914). His daughter Magdalena married Elisabetha Wilhelmine August Heidenreich , who later became a member of the state parliament . Wilhelm von Wedekind was Protestant.

Life

Wilhelm von Wedekind was the owner of the Hiltersklingen estate in the Odenwald (today part of Mossautal ). From 1872 to 1887 he was a member of the state parliament for the constituency Starkenburg 1 / Beerfelden-Hirschhorn-Wimpfen .
