Erika Ober

Erika Ober (born October 30, 1950 in Saarbrücken ) is a German SPD politician.

Life

The specialist in gynecology and obstetrics , who lives in Michelstadt in the Odenwald , joined the SPD in 1988 and was a member of the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2005 . At that time she was directly elected in constituency 188 and won just ahead of the CDU candidate Patricia Lips .

In the 2005 Bundestag election , the two faced each other again in the fight for the direct mandate . This time Patricia Lips won the direct mandate by a narrow 79 votes. Erika Ober also missed re-entry into the German Bundestag via the SPD state list.

On May 8, 2008, she was set up in Erbach as a district administrator candidate for the SPD in the Odenwald district and should succeed District Administrator Horst Schnur . In the election on March 8, 2009, Ober achieved only 28% of the vote in the district in which the SPD had provided the district administrator since the Second World War. Before the runoff election against Dietrich Kübler , she withdrew her candidacy.

On May 25, 2009, she succeeded the resigned MP Frank Schmidt and was again a member of the Bundestag until the end of the legislative period.

She married Manfred Ober in 1978 and has two daughters.
