Stefan G. Reuss

Stefan G. Reuß (born October 1970 in Kassel ) is a German local politician and football functionary and since June 6, 2006 district administrator of the Werra-Meißner district .

Life

From 1988 to the mid-1990s he was active for SV Velmeden in 1952 as a referee up to the DFB level.

In 1990 Reuss graduated from the Freiherr vom Stein School in Hessisch Lichtenau . He then completed a degree in business education at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , which he finished in 1996. In 1997 he started working as a research assistant, which lasted until 2001. From 1998 to 1999 he completed a supplementary course at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer .

From 2001 he worked as a lecturer for economics and business administration in Kassel. He ended this activity one day before taking office as district administrator.

He is a member of the board of directors of Sparkasse Werra-Meißner .

Reuss is married to Julia, the daughter of the former member of the Bundestag Joachim Tappe , and the father of two children.

Political party

In 1987 he joined the youth organization of the SPD, the Jusos . In 1989 he was a founding member of the Working Group of Young Socialists in Hessisch Lichtenau. In 1992 he joined the SPD's local association Velmeden .

From 1995 to 1998 he was chairman of the Jusos in the Werra-Meißner district. In 1997 he became an assessor on the board of the SPD sub-district Werra-Meißner, of which he became deputy chairman in 1999. He became chairman of the Werra-Meißner sub-district in 2003. He held this position until 2008.

politics

He was a member of the city council of Hessisch Lichtenau from 1997 to 2001. Immediately afterwards he became a member of the district council in the Werra-Meißner district.

In the district election on March 26, 2006 Reuss was elected to succeed Dieter Brosey with 56.9% of the vote .

On January 29, 2012 Reuss was confirmed in office with 78.2% of the votes.

Memberships

Stefan Reuß is President of the Hessian Football Association .

Reuss is a member of the association assembly of the State Welfare Association of Hesse as well as the district chairman of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge in the Werra-Meißner district.

He is also a member of various clubs and associations.
