Christian Engelhardt (born October 1, 1972 in Leonberg ) is a German legal scholar and politician ( CDU ). Since the September 16, 2015 it is district of the county mountain road .

Life

After graduating from high school, Christian Engelhardt studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 1998 he passed the first state examination in law and in 2000 the second state examination in law.

He then worked as a freelance lawyer for three years, advising small and medium-sized companies in this activity, especially on questions of commercial law and corporate law.

Christian Engelhardt has been politically active since joining the Junge Union in 1989 and the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in 1990 . He was a board member in various functions of the CDU and Junge Union, including district chairman of the Junge Union Mittelhessen and chairman of the city association of the CDU Wetter . He was also a member of the city council in Wetter and was in the district council in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district .

In December 2003 Christian Engelhardt was elected mayor of the city of Frankenberg (Eder) . He took up this position on May 1, 2004. Projects during his term of office were in particular the model project “ Family City with a Future ” and the urban redevelopment concept “Frankenberg 2020”. Engelhardt was re-elected in September 2009. In the Waldeck-Frankenberg district he was a member of the district council and most recently chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group.

On December 1, 2011, Engelhardt changed to the role of director (from December 2013 managing director) of the Hessian district council . In Wiesbaden he was also chairman of the CDU's local political association. In 2013/14 Christian Engelhardt worked as coordinator of municipal interests in the remunicipalisation of the regional supplier E.ON Mitte AG to become EAM and was managing director of EAM GmbH & Co. KG from November 2013 to June 2014 .

In the direct election of the district administrator on April 19, 2015, he was elected district administrator for the Bergstrasse district. He has held this office since September 16, 2015. Since 2015 Christian Engelhardt has also been Deputy Chairman of the Association Assembly of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region .

Christian Engelhardt is also chairman of the Hessen regional association of the German library association , chairman of the Geo-Naturpark Bergstrasse-Odenwald , chairman of the supervisory board of Disability Aid Bergstrasse, chairman of the supervisory board of the Bergstrasse business development agency, deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Destination Bergstrasse-Odenwald, deputy chairman of the Hesse adult education center, Chairman of the association assembly of the Rhein-Neckar transport association , deputy chairman of the Institute for Media Education and Communication Hesse, on the board of the CDU Local Political Association in Hesse, on the board of the CDU Hesse and on the board of the CDU parliamentary group in the State Welfare Association of Hesse .

Engelhardt is married and has two daughters.
