Franz Hartnagel (born July 10, 1919 in Einhausen ; † January 5, 2010 in Heppenheim ) was a German local politician ( CDU ) in the Bergstrasse district .

Life

Hartnagel became involved in local politics in Einhausen from 1946. From 1954 to 1973 he was mayor of his home parish. In addition, he was a member of the Bergstrasse district council from 1958 and was an honorary district member from 1960 to 1977 before he was elected full-time first district member in 1977. From 1982 to 1985 Hartnagel was district administrator for the Bergstrasse district. In the population he was nicknamed Kaiser Franz .

Hartnagel was married to Katharina.

Foundations

In 1989 Hartnagel founded the Franz Hartnagel Foundation to promote single-house associations. In 1999, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, he increased the foundation's capital to one million DM and also added the Bergstrasse sports district to the beneficiaries. In 2008 he also founded the Franz Hartnagel Altenhilfestiftung to promote care for the elderly in Einhausen.

  • 1985: Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany
  • 1989: (first and so far only) honorary citizen of the community of Einhausen
