Daniela Schenk (born November 13, 1964 in Bern ) is a Swiss writer ; she has worked as a bookseller, in service, as a copywriter, editorial assistant, organizer of a theater group and DJane. Today she is a teacher, PR editor and author.

Career

Daniela Schenk trained as an "astrological-psychological consultant" after graduating from high school. She worked in a cooperative pub and as a night watch, turned her back on esotericism, got involved in the women's work group at the Reithalle cultural center , where she organized events for the women's space. She studied journalism at the University of Friborg . After a one-year break due to illness, she started working in a Bern bookstore. She now teaches at a book trade school and works as a PR editor in a socio-educational institution.

Her attempts to write upscale literature failed because, as she herself says, she regularly fell asleep while reading through her texts. She came to the realization that it is more useful to write the way she can. She started all over again and Julia & Satine took shape. After the success of the first book appeared: O only knew that it is her! (2006), Wir 4ever (2008) and Those who (2009), Nettle Years (2014), Life is a Joke (2015, e-book), Knarrenfrauen (April 2016) and Alpenfrauen (2017).

Daniela Schenk's books are characterized by (linguistic) wit and humor. The writing style is easy to drink, but more serious topics such as depression, blindness, retirement homes and obsessions are also taken up. The characters in the novel are differentiated and lovingly drawn. Minor characters in the form of friends, children, grandmas and old craftsmen play an important role in the course of the story.
