The Danlamp A / S is a Danish company that manufactures light bulbs since 1931. The head office of the joint stock company is located in the city of Aabenraa .

Danlamp is the only light bulb manufacturer in Denmark today. The original name was "Dansk Glødelampefabrik A / S". It produced all common filament lamps from 10 to 300 watts. In the early 1950s, the Aabenraa plant was automated.

history

In 1966 the Danish entrepreneur Søren Madsen bought Glødelampefabrik A / S and had a decisive influence on the further development of the company. His company in Copenhagen was already producing lights under the brand name SM for the household sector. Madsen invested in special machines and testing equipment and changed the strategy due to the increased competition in the world light bulb market. He introduced the production of special lamps. The focus was now on international niche markets for the development and production of special light bulbs. Madsen introduced a range of lanterns for ships and lights for traffic lights. The Danlamp lanterns have received approvals from several international marine equipment standards organizations. Among other things, Danlamp lamps are also approved as a replacement for older ship lights.

Under Madsen, Danlamp also developed low-voltage traffic signal lights, which are still used today in Northern Europe, as well as signal lamps for railways. In 1998 the company changed its name to "Danlamp A / S". In 2007 the former production manager Jan Vesterlund took over the overall management of Danlamp A / S.

Today Danlamp supplies lamps for traffic lights in Austria, Sweden and Denmark and for railway signals in England, Norway and Denmark. Danlamp is also one of the leading suppliers of signal lights for shipping and supplies navigation lights for all types of ships, both merchant ships and pleasure craft, and is the leading supplier for Hella , Aqua Signal and Perko.
