The Dansk Handicap Idræts-Forbund (DHIF; German  Danish Disabled Sports Association ) is one of around 60 professional sports associations in the Danish sports association, Danmarks Idræts-Forbund , and is based in Idrættens Hus (House of Sports) in Brøndby . The association, which was founded in 1971, has around 400 associations, in which around 13,600 members were active in 30 sports in 2011. Swimming, boccia, hockey or floorball and riding are among the most popular sports. The Deaf Sports Association Dansk Døve-Idrætsforbund is a separate association within the DHIF .

Financed disabled sports in Denmark , who took in the 1950s with the founding of the first disability sports clubs its beginning, including through revenues from lottery and betting revenues as well as sponsors. The high-performance sports , the participation to the since 1968 at the Paralympic Games in part one, receives additional funding from the elite sport organization Team Danmark . Sports sponsored by the DHIF and practiced by top athletes include goalball , athletics, cycling, riding , wheelchair curling , wheelchair rugby , swimming, sailing, shooting, table tennis and winter sports.
