Darach Ó Séaghdha is an Irish writer and podcaster.

Darach Ó Séaghdha grew up in Rathfarnham as the son of a linguist . The parents of Ó Séaghdha spoke Irish among themselves, but English with their children. When his father fell ill, Ó Séaghdha began to dig deeper into Irish, learning the language and sharing interesting Irish phrases and expressions on Twitter.

He is the author of Motherfoclóir: Dispatches from a not so dead language (Head of Zeus, 2017), which won the Irish Book Award in the Ireland AM Popular Non-Fiction Book of the Year category in 2017 .

Ó Séaghdha is married and has one daughter.
