Darryl Banks

Darryl Banks is an American comic book artist and painter.

Born into an African American family, Banks began working as a full-time comic book artist in the late 1980s. He delivered his first professional work with the Cyberpunk series , one of the first ever painted comic series.

Then, together with the author Mark Ellis , Banks designed the series The Justice Machine , which was initially distributed by the US publisher Innovation and later by its competitor Millennium. For Millennium, Banks also drew comic book adaptations of television series such as The Wild Wild West , Doc Savage and The Monarch of Armageddon .

In 1993, Banks was finally hired as a regular draftsman for the superhero comic series Green Lantern , which appeared at DC Comics , and which he oversaw for almost eight years until 2001 (issues 50 to 142). His creative partners in this series were the authors Ron Marz (until 1999) and Judd Winick as well as the ink draftsmen Joe Rubinstein and Romeo Thangal.
