The Lost Regiment is the title of a nine-volume series of novels written by the American SF author William R. Forstchen (* 1950) in the 1990s.

It deals with the fictional story of the 35th Maine Regiment, which was hit by a mysterious phenomenon during the American Civil War in an alien world called Waldennia . In the course of the series, the commander of the Union Regiment Andrew Keane succeeds in freeing the human population residing on the planet, which seems to come from different ages in the history of the earth, from the rule of the "hordes". Until the arrival of the Yankees, these aliens tyrannize the people they have enslaved, but are successively pushed back by the combat-ready blue skirts.

The first 5 volumes of the series were published by Bastei Lübbe , but according to the publisher the others will not be translated into German because the sales figures were not sufficient to cover the costs.
