Database Task Group

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Data Base Task Group ( DBTG ; German  " Database Working Group " ) is a working group that was set up in 1965 by the Cobol Committee , formerly the Programming Language Committee , of the Conference of Data Systems Language ( CODASYL ). The original name of the List Processing Task Force was changed to DBTG in 1967.

In April 1971 the DBTG published in a report a specification of the data manipulation language Data Manipulation Language (DML) and the data description language Data Definition Language (DDL) for the standardization of network databases . The first proposals of the DBTG were published as early as 1969. The specification was modified and further developed in various committees and published in further reports in 1973 and 1978. The specification has become known as the DBTG database model or the CODASYL database model. In addition, many basic database terminology can be found in this group.
