Datel was a company founded in 1970 and based in Darmstadt . The main shareholders were Post , Siemens , AEG and Nixdorf . The business objective was the development of commercial standard software such as financial accounting DABU, wages and salaries DALOG, cost accounting DAKOR. This should be rented out to companies as a service, including with remote data processing.

Datel was sold to GSI in 1974. The DANET company also emerged from Datel. DANET was significantly involved in the development of the BTX .
