David Lowe (computer scientist)

David Lowe is a Canadian computer scientist, professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of British Columbia and a member of the Laboratory for Computational Intelligence . His research covers the areas of machine vision and object recognition . Lowe is best known for developing the SIFT algorithm , which is used for object recognition and autostitching .
