David S. Oderberg

David S. Oderberg (* 1963 ) is an Australian philosopher . He represents an Aristotelian essentialism and hylemorphism as metaphysics . In his work he often attacked the ethical consequentialism and the bioethical positions of his compatriot Peter Singer .

After studying at Melbourne University , Oderberg received his PhD from Oxford University . He has been a permanent resident of the UK since 1987 and is a professor at Reading University .
