De Hoop

De Hoop ( German  The Hope ) is a flour mill in Oud-Zevenaar in the Dutch province of Gelderland .

history

The mill was built in 1850 by HB Meyer and has been owned by the miller and baker family Pijnappel since 1852, who also owned the windmills in Babberich , Duiven , Klarenbeek , Ooij , Pannerden and Posterenk around 1900 .

The mill has had an attached bakery since it was built. In the past it also served as a farm. After years of decline, it was restored between 1957 and 1963. De Hoop is a listed building ( Rijksmonument ).
