De lege lata

De lege lata (literally after the law) is Latin and means "according to the law". The opposite term is de lege ferenda .

The term is used to delimit whether a legal consequence is achievable under current law or whether a legal consequence is ethical or desirable in the view of the viewer, but not possible under current law, but only through a change in the legal situation, according to the law to be created is.
