Death by misadventure

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the UK , death by misadventure recorded by coroners and on death certificates and related documents is primarily the result of an accident resulting from a voluntary risk. In contrast, a cause of death listed as an accident rather than a mishap does not imply undue willful intent. Adversity is a form of death established by law: a way in which an actual cause of death (trauma, exposure, etc.) could occur. For example, a death caused by an illegal overdose can be counted as an adversarial death since the user took the risk of voluntary drug use. Adversity is a form of unnatural death, a category that includes accident, suicide, and manslaughter.
