Deck passage

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A deck passage is an overnight stay on a ship without a sleeping place in a cabin .

For a trip on a ferry that lasts overnight, a cabin or at least a deck chair in a common room is usually booked. Some ferry lines make it possible to only book the one-way deck passage and then to stay with your luggage and a sleeping bag in permitted areas on deck and spend the night in this way.

A disadvantage of a deck passage can be an unfavorable overnight place on board for various reasons.

A deck passage is to be separated from the camping on board , which is offered by some ferry companies. Here you stay in your own camping accommodation (mobile home or caravan) and spend the night there. The overnight stay takes place on specially furnished decks.
