Your and my secret ( jap. 僕 と 彼女 の ×ewhere , Boku to Kanojo no XXX ) is a manga by Ai Morinaga that was published from 2001 to 2011. The work has been translated into several languages ​​and can be classified into the comedy and romantic genres .

action

The gentle and reserved Akira Uehara ( 上原 あ き ら ) fell in love with the cute-looking, but rough and uncultivated Nanako Momoi ( 桃 井 菜 々 子 ). Although she won't let him get close to her, he wants to take care of her when she gets sick. But when he visits her, her crazy grandfather wants to do an experiment on her. When Akira tries to prevent this, they both swap bodies. Shortly afterwards, Nanako's grandfather flees to Hawaii and they cannot reverse the exchange.

After initial problems, Nanako feels comfortable in Akira's body. With her kind he becomes a crush of all girls and soon she falls in love with Makoto Shiina ( 椎 名 真 琴 ), who was once Nanako's best friend. Akira's family also welcomes his change. Akira's former buddy Shinnosuke Senbongi ( 千 本 木 進 之 介, ) has fallen in love with Nanako, who has Akira in her body. Akira is the only one who is dissatisfied with the body swap.

Shinnosuke tries several times to win Nanako over, but Akira, who is in her, does not want to allow this at first. On the graduation trip, Akira finally accepts his new body and starts a relationship with Shinnosuke, while Nanako gets together with Makoto.

From March to December 2001, the manga appeared in Stencil magazine on Square Enix . From April 2002 he appeared in the Comic Blade at Mag Garden and in November 2007 moved to the magazine Comic Blade Avarus of the same publisher. The last chapter appeared in August 2011. Mag Garden also published the manga in eight anthologies.

The manga is published in English by Tokyopop , in Italian by Star Comics and in Spanish by Ediciones Mangaline. A German edition was published by Tokyopop from October 2007 to June 2012. The German translation comes from Karsten Küstner.

Adaptation

On April 21, 2006, the real film Boku to Kanojo no XXX , based on the manga, was released in Japanese cinemas.

According to Splashcomics, Ai Morinaga has successfully implemented the often-used idea of ​​swapped bodies and reproduced the gender-typical situations in which the characters find themselves in a funny and apt. The story is as romantic as it is funny and the drawings are beautiful and soft.
