DeleD is a simple modeler specializing in level design and static modeling from the Dutch development team Delgine.

history

Initially, the editor was developed as part of the Delgine Game Engine. Later the development of the Delgine Engine was stopped and the development of the editor DeleD was concentrated.

From version 1.0 DeleD is available in two versions, the free LITE version and the paid PRO version, which has been expanded to include some functions. At the moment (January 6) DeleD is available in version 1.73. Version 1.5 was the first to publish the UV editor, which enables precise texturing of the model. In version 1.7, the subdivision function was also added.

On November 12th, 2009 it was announced that DeleD PRO and DeleD LITE would be merged to DeleD CE (Community Edition). This will be continued as an open source project and was released on January 15, 2010 under the GPL license.

Functions

DeleD specializes in level design . For this, the editor has a large number of functions for editing the 3D objects. With several subordinate levels, the scene can be changed flexibly on the object, polygon , texture and vertex level. The user interface has been developed specifically for both beginners and advanced users and can be adapted to their own needs. DeleD has a UV editor and a complex lightmap function that writes the lighting data of the objects on textures, creating an impression of the lighting. Thanks to its distinctive plug-in system, it is compatible with many other 3D programs through import and export plug-ins , for example it is possible to export the scene in .3ds, .obj or .X format. There is also compatibility with game engines such as Irrlicht or Torque Game Engine .

Scenes that were created with DeleD are license-free, so they can be used for any type of project.
