Deller Consort

The Deller Consort was an English vocal and instrumental ensemble devoted to early English music, founded in 1948 by countertenor Alfred Deller . It existed until 1986.

The line-up of the ensemble has changed over the years. a. Rogers Covey-Crump, Gerald English, Paul Elliott, Leigh Nixon, Dominique Visse , Lynne Dawson , Igor Kipnis , Patricia Clark, Grayston Burgess, Mary Thomas and Neil Jenkins.

In 1964 Mark Deller, son of the founder and also countertenor, joined the ensemble and took over the management after the death of his father in 1979.

The ensemble toured for more than twenty years and celebrated great success with its interpretations of English Renaissance music.
