Monument to Oliveira Martins
The monument to Oliveira Martins is a memorial to the historian and politician Joaquim Pedro de Oliveira Martins (1845–1894) in the center of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon .
The stone-carved statue was created by the sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida and was unveiled on May 27, 1952 together with the monument to António Feliciano de Castilho in the green spaces of Avenida da Liberdade at Rua Alexandre Herculano . The client was the Câmara Municipal of Lisbon.
The statue stands on a base about 1.50 meters high, with the inscription OLIVEIRA MARTINS .
