Deore
Deore is a component group for mountain bike , trekking and touring bikes from the Japanese manufacturer Shimano .
history
The Deore group was introduced by Shimano in the 1980s as a mountain bike and touring group. It formed the basis for the Deore-II, Deore-DX, Deore-LX and Deore-XT groups derived from it.
Several model series for mountain bikes were introduced under the umbrella term Deore: Deore-II, Deore-DX, Deore-LX and Deore-XT groups. Today the Deore group exists as a beginner group and Deore SLX as the successor to the Deore LX as a component group of the middle class. Deore XT is still in the upper class.
The higher the class, the higher the quality of the materials and workmanship.
Shimano has been selling the Deore M6000 series since 2017. It is optionally available with double or triple chainrings . The four-arm cranks still have a Hollowtech II bottom bracket . The Dyna-Sys technology enables cassettes with a gradation of 11 to 42 teeth, i.e. a relatively large spread.
In 2020 the Deore M6100 series with 1x12 drive was presented. 11-speed and 10-speed drives with double front derailleurs are still available as Deore M5100 and Deore M4100.
