EM Miller Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles . Another source uses the name The Miller-Quincy Company .
Company history
Emerson M. Miller and JH Weaver founded Miller and Weaver in 1856 . The seat was in Quincy , Illinois . Miller Weaver paid off after just three months. Then EM Miller & Co. is handed down when the brother Sereno D. Miller became the partner. At first it made carriages . Around 300 people were employed in the 1880s. Sereno Miller left the company in June 1899. Elbridge K. Stone Jr. became a new partner. In February 1902, EM Miller Company was registered. EM Miller, EK Stone Jr., his son Albert J. Stone and Alfred Boger were involved. In March 1909 Miller withdrew and sold his shares in Stone.
The first motorized hearse was built in 1915 . 116 pieces followed in the next year. Around 1920, 75 people were employed. Between 1922 and 1924, some passenger cars were also built . The brand name was Miller-Quincy .
Production ended in 1930.

The cars had a six-cylinder engine from the Continental Motors Company . It made 50 hp . The vehicles were bodied as limousines . The chassis had a wheelbase of 330 cm , as was the case with the hearse. The original price was 2780 US dollars .
