Scott-Newcomb Motor Car Company , previously Standard Engineering Company and Standard Steam Corporation , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
LL Scott and EC Newcomb were the driving forces. According to their own statements, they had done development work for three years. In 1920 they founded the Standard Engineering Company in St. Louis , Missouri . The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Scott-Newcomb , but standard has also been passed down. In early 1921 there were plans for a Standard Steam Corporation , although it remains unclear whether these plans were carried out. At the time, the Fifth Avenue Coach Company was considering placing an order for buses . However, she did not place an order. In October 1921 the name was Scott-Newcomb Motor Car Company . Production ended in the same year.
A total of between five and seven vehicles were built.

Steam cars were on offer . They had a steam engine with two cylinders . It was emphasized that the engine was ready to start within a minute. The chassis had a wheelbase of 325 cm . The structure was an open touring car with five seats. The curb weight was given as around 1909 kg.
