Davis Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

LW Davis planned to start producing automobiles as early as 1917. There was also the Davis Car Company in Seattle , Washington State . It is not known exactly when the company was founded. President was JM Finley and Vice President Harry T. Hanover, who also ran Apex Motor Corporation . In October 1921 it was announced that automobile production would begin soon. It started in 1921. The brand name was Totem . Production ended in 1922. A total of at least ten vehicles were built, with references to 60 vehicles.

The vehicles had a four-cylinder engine of Herschell-Spillman . It made 38 hp . The power transmission with a friction gear was unusual . The chassis had a 297 cm wheelbase . The open touring car offered space for five people. The original price was 1695 US dollars .

Light delivery vans were at least planned.
