Mel Special was an American automobile brand.

Brand history

Mel Stringer was a racing car driver. He manufactured some automobiles from 1918 . The brand name was Mel Special . Until 1920 he did so in Cleveland , Ohio and then in Pottstown , Pennsylvania . Production ended in 1924.

Sports and racing cars were on offer . The focus was on dirt track racing cars. A vehicle with a four-cylinder engine has been reported to have been sold for $ 4,250 in 1924 .
